Noble Alliance Geneva

A Message to Our Petriots

Welcome back, Petriots, to the second edition of the Noble Alliance Quarterly—where every story reveals the extraordinary power of the human-animal bond.

This issue kicks off with a heartfelt tribute to two remarkable heroes: Pep’s, the search and rescue dog with Switzerland’s elite REDOG team, and Lucie, the therapy dog whose gentle presence brought hope to those in need. Honoured with the Frehel Fellowship Award, their stories remind us just how vital these connections are—saving lives, healing communities, and inspiring us all.

We then take you behind the scenes of our first Annual Report, unveiling the bold vision and early steps that shaped Noble Alliance’s mission—from strategy to action.

Next up, a powerful new Insight: how do we care for pets when families face crisis? We expose a blind spot in current care systems and call for a new approach that embraces every member of multi-species families with fairness and foresight.

From the heart of Geneva, hear how our “Clean Cities, Shared Responsibility” campaign is transforming public spaces—making them cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for pets and their people.

And in a special interview, discover how Geneva is evolving as a pet-friendly travel destination, setting the stage for a future where pets are truly welcome everywhere.

Our Guardians of the Bond series continues to shine a light on trailblazers across continents—from public health pioneers to behavioral experts—all pushing the boundaries of what it means to care for animals as part of our shared world.

In Bonds of Impact, journey with us from the deserts of Africa to the rugged Alps alongside REDOG and Italy’s Soccorso Alpino—where dogs are more than companions; they are lifesaving partners in extraordinary missions.

And to protect our four-legged friends, we’ve launched vital emergency ID tools right here in Geneva—simple, lifesaving devices ensuring no pet is overlooked in moments of crisis.

For the next generation, our new “Being a Dog’s Best Friend” program teaches kids empathy, respect, and safety, laying the groundwork for a kinder tomorrow.

Finally, for creators with a vision, applications are now open for the Noble Architect competition and Textures of an Alliance—calling on artists and architects to imagine a world where humans and animals thrive side by side.

If you believe in the power of the human-animal bond and want to make a real difference, join us by becoming a member of Noble Alliance, our Swiss non-profit association. As a Petriot, you’re not just supporting a cause—you’re officially part of a movement driving extraordinary impact for animals and families.

Lean in. Listen close. Because here at Noble Alliance, when humans and animals unite, the extraordinary becomes possible.

Yours truly,
Stefano Gnes, Vera Gualdi, and Frehel

Noble Alliance Unveils Its 4th Insight on Continuity of Pet Care

In its fourth Insight Series, Noble Alliance examines a critical but underrecognized dimension of care continuity: the long-term planning required to ensure the wellbeing of companion animals during periods of human crisis, incapacity, or transition. Despite growing societal awareness of the human-animal bond, current legal and care infrastructures largely exclude non-human dependents from formal preparedness frameworks. This oversight reveals a structural gap—one with ethical, practical, and public health implications. The insight calls for an expanded approach to estate planning and emergency readiness that formally integrates multi-species households into future-facing care systems.

By reframing continuity of care as inclusive of all dependent lives, this perspective introduces a necessary shift toward more equitable, resilient planning.
