One of the main past times of my life has been staring at rocks; rocks in all situations... I am captivated by their shapes, their colours, their age... it leads me to wonder just what changes they have witnessed and been part of in the life of this amazing earth we live on.
So here I am, outback Australia, studying a huge boulder of agate with crystals embedded all over it. Hmmm I wonder, I ponder.... I love the abstract images in this rock, the yellows and ochres, the glistening crystals.... how far has it rolled down this creek bed, where has it been, just what forces of nature created it. It will not be here when I come this way again for the next major flooding of this creek bed will roll it further down stream.... like all of us, we roll on in life gathering a patina as we go.
