How to: Integrated Office Space

Was invited to see if I could transform a broken and disused cupboard into a practical, usable area. Not surprising given the cost of property, the opportunity cost of not utilising it or adding value to it, and the increasing need to be able to work from home.

Would love to share what I did here, perhaps you (or I!) can do the same in your home!

Here is the end result:

Firstly, needed to put a floor in the cupboard to hide these pipes:

Then box off the pipes on the wall as they just look fugly:

Ensured I could get all the timber in the little car as the van wasn't available(I should smile more!)

Built shelving out of CLS timber:

Doors were sanded down, and repaired, a box built to conceal the pipes in the cupboard, all woodwork primed and painted, gaps caulked, everything lightly sanded down between coats, everything level.

Et voila, instant office that you can close the door on when you're finished for the day!

What other ideas do you have to transform a small space like this?
