In the latest installment of the Great Harvest series, Pastor Wiryohadi shared a profound message he received while visiting Cana, Israel the place where Jesus performed His first miracle at a wedding. The word God placed on his heart was clear: “Become One.”
This message highlights how the unity of husband and wife is a vital key to unlocking God’s blessing, anointing, and destiny for a family.
Why Marriage Unity (become one) Matters
From the beginning, God’s plan was for husband and wife to become one (Genesis 2:24). Pastor Wiryohadi explained that this unity isn’t just for companionship, but a powerful force that:
Enables couples to reach the destiny God has prepared for them (Genesis 1:26-28)
Releases a mighty anointing over the family (Psalm 133:1-3)
Commands God’s blessing to flow into their household
Without unity, couples risk missing out on God’s full purpose and favor for their family.
God’s 3 Ordained Institutions for His People:
Family
Church
Government
Marriage is the very first institution God established—and it carries heaven’s blueprint for blessing and legacy.
5 Ways to “Become One” in Marriage
1️⃣ Have One Purpose
Glorify God together in your family life
Raise godly offspring who surpass their parents (Malachi 2:15)
Reflect Christ’s relationship with His church (Ephesians 5:30-33)
2️⃣ Build One Vision: The husband must receive God’s vision for the family and lead in preserving and nurturing it (Genesis 2:15)
3️⃣ Establish One Financial System: Manage finances together in unity, with transparency and shared goals
4️⃣ Worship in One Church: Attend and serve together in the same local church, strengthening spiritual unity (Hebrews 10:25)
5️⃣ Submit to One Command and Decision: While duties may be divided, spiritual headship and final decisions remain with the husband, guided by God (Ephesians 5:23)
A Call for Married Couples
Pastor Wiryohadi reminded couples that unity in marriage isn’t automatic—it must be pursued intentionally through faith, love, and shared purpose. When a husband and wife become truly one, they create fertile ground for God’s blessing, anointing, and destiny to flow abundantly.
Let’s respond to God’s word from Israel by strengthening our marriages and becoming one, so we may fully step into The Year of Great Harvest.
