The U.S. Climate Vulnerability Index: Pulling in 184 sets of data to rank more than 70,000 U.S. Census tracts, the U.S. Climate Vulnerability Index helps you see which communities face the greatest challenges from the impacts of a changing climate. This tool shows what is driving the challenges, so policymakers and communities themselves can take action to build climate resilience where it is needed most. Use this tool so you can:
Understand the drivers of vulnerability in your community
See how communities compare risks across the U.S.

EDGI (Environmental Data & Governance Initiative) has been working to make the federal screening tools available online. EDGI is a research collaborative and network of diverse professionals promoting evidence-based policy-making and public interest science that advances the Environmental Right to Know (ERTK). EDGI was formed in November 2016 to document and analyze changes to vulnerable federal environmental data and governance practices under the Trump administration. EDGI has grown into the preeminent watchdog tracking and assessing modifications to federal environmental information resources and their accessibility; a national leader in highlighting Trump’s impacts on environmental, data, and information policies and practices; and the forerunner in developing a new field of inquiry and critique: environmental data justice.
The Public Environmental Data Project is committed to preserving and providing public access to federal environmental data. They are a volunteer coalition of several environmental, justice, and policy organizations, researchers across several universities, archivists, and students who rely on federal datasets and tools to support critical research, advocacy, policy, and litigation work.
