These skills development programs are learner based, educational and experiential programs that are facilitated within a group format and focus on ground activities rather than horseback riding.

Horses have a lot to teach us, but they are also a lot like us. Herds to horses are just like teams to people. Horses require a leader that they trust and respect, just like we would love to have in school, or in the workplace. These parallels give us the ability to parallel everything that happens to real life so that what you learn really sticks! Quite simply, the horse does the teaching; facilitators are there to offer an explanation and provide guidance as they work through the solution. Working with horses creates memories that we can apply to our lives and retain far longer than sitting in ‘just another classroom'.
WHY WORK WITH PREY ANIMALS?
In a horse’s world, the rules are clear, easy to understand and dealt with swiftly when challenged. Nature provides them with instincts and senses that are very astute. For their mere survival, a wild horse must be aware of their surroundings and quick to react. Horses are tough and steadfast dance partners; they don’t judge, but they don’t forget. They don’t let you cheat and their feedback is honest and instant.
HOW DOES THIS PROGRAM WORK?
Horses can magnify an individual’s problem immediately and provide a skilled facilitator with an opportunity to identify an individual’s character and their communication style. Horses don’t overthink a participant’s motive but horses do challenge their behaviour and leadership. Horses in this program are effective teaching tools; immediately responding to what participants do, trained facilitators look for "teachable moments" that horses identify.
A hands-on, interactive and fun learning experience just for youth! Whether it be building relationships, working on teamwork and communication skills, learning to trust, making choices, or becoming a leader, these life skills development programs will provide your youth with an experience that they can draw from in their everyday lives.
Partners For Success offers programs that promote and build bully proofing skills, strong team bonds, helps our youth at risk, as well as we offer curriculum programs for schools and organizations. The benefits are endless when participating in our experiential skills development program!
Through our Women’s Empowerment Series, we help to guide your women to self-discovery by providing life skills development that is essential for women moving forward in their lives with confidence! We work with organizations who are helping women rebuild their lives, as well as to women who are seeking a unique experience that will allow them to gain valuable life skills to move themselves forward in their lives and current situations.
By engaging in this hand on experiential learning opportunity, women involved in our program will be lead to success and empowerment!
The therapy treatment for PTSD isn’t the end of recovery. Many people don’t know what to do after therapy and they need a way to reintegrate back into their lives, the workforce and back into their family. This course helps PTSD clients to transition back into everyday life by instilling the skills necessary to move forward.
Through working with horses, people are able to develop life skills to help them integrate into their true lives again. Through developing skills such as communication, focus, active listening, leadership and trust, PTSD survivors can reclaim their lives and move into a new and healthy chapter.
We have been trained by the world renowned Equine Connection - The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning Inc, who certify all over the world through the Academy of Equine Assisted Learning BuildingBlock™ course. You will see Equine Connection instructors in the videos provided, these will give a better understanding of the value of our programs and workshops.
